From October 14th to 15th, 2017, the final race of Blancpain GT Series Asia was held in Zhejiang China, Zhejiang International Circuit. The successful end of this race marked the perfect end of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series. The last two of the 2017 Blancpain GT Asian Series were held in China. From September 23 to 24, the participating teams launched a fierce competition at the Shanghai International Circuit, preparing for the final battle of the 2017 season. Among the many championship contenders after the Shanghai race, three teams in the GT3 group are expected to impact the annual championship. They are Li Yingjian / Tang Weifeng from Audi Hong Kong Team, Mitch Gilbert / Aditya Patel from OD Team, and Hunter Abbott from GruppeM. At the same time, the Am Cup and GT4 driver championships in other groups are also waiting for the final battle.
The decisive battle was held at the Zhejiang International Circuit from October 14th to 15th. In the race, driver Hunter Abbott finally won the OD team’s Aditya Patel and Mitch Gilbert by one point, becoming the 2017 Blancpain GT Asian Series Championship. Drivers Li Yingjian / Tang Weifeng finished in sixth place, eventually slipping from first to third, but still regained the silver championship.

On the other hand, the closing event of the 2017 Blancpain GT European Series also kicked off on October 1st at Barcelona’s famous Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The number of participating cars in this race reached an unprecedented 168, setting a new record for the race. At the end of the race, Grasser team won the Blancpain GT European Series Team Winner with Lamborghini Huracán GT3, and Bentley M-Sport team won the team endurance race.
At the same time, the race organizer SRO Motorsports Group released the Blancpain GT Asian Series 2018 calendar. A new round of passion will be launched in April next year:

May 12/13: Chang International Circuit (Thailand) races one hour each in two rounds
June 30 / July 1: Suzuka (Japan) one round each for two rounds
July 21/22: Fuji (Japan) one hour each for two rounds
September 22/23: Shanghai (China) two rounds of one hour each
October 13/14: Zhejiang (China) two rounds of one hour each
